Hi, we’re Meowches.

A tiny sewing studio in Pennsylvania making bags and pouches one seam at a time, supervised at all times by four extremely opinionated cats.

The short version

We fell for the running stitch, that little dashed line that turns two pieces of fabric into something you’ll carry every day. Now we sew bags and pouches by hand, in small batches, and try very hard not to buy every pretty print we see. (We fail. Often.)

Before this shop had its own home, we sold on Etsy, where 2.5k+ sales and a 5.0 rating taught us one thing: people really, really like a good pouch.

  • Sewn by hand

    Every piece is cut, pinned and stitched by hand at our sewing table, with a lot of thread.

  • Small batches

    We make a few of each at a time, so prints come and go. If you love one, don’t wait too long.

  • Fabric first

    The print is the star. We hunt down gorgeous fabrics, from makers like Rifle Paper Co and Tula Pink to happy finds at the craft store.

Meet the staff

Four cats, zero job descriptions, unlimited opinions.

  • Chubs

    CFO (Chief Food Officer)

    Oversees all snack-related spending and audits the food bowl hourly, usually finding it “tragically empty.” Has never once approved a budget cut.

  • Pepper

    Supervisor (Strictly Hands-Off)

    Has never once lifted a paw to help, but needs to know exactly what everyone (human or cat) is up to at all times. If something is happening, Pepper is watching it with wide-eyed curiosity.

  • Rose

    Senior Manager, Interruptions & Thread Disposal

    Sits on whatever we're cutting, walks across the sewing machine mid-seam, and quietly eats thread when no one's looking. Please don't try to pet her. She's very busy.

  • Sassy

    Her Royal Highness, Quality Control

    Generous with affection (on her terms) and quick with a swat for anyone who forgets who’s in charge. Reviews every bag from atop the cutting table, the only height suitable for royalty.
